ProTech® Temperature & Pressure Relief Valve – Certified Safety for Pressurized Water Heating Systems
The ProTech® Temperature & Pressure (T&P) Relief Valve is engineered to provide essential over-temperature and over-pressure protection for tank-style water heaters. Factory-rated to discharge at 210°F and 150 psi, this valve helps prevent tank damage and system failures by ensuring safe pressure and temperature limits are not exceeded during operation.
Designed for both gas and electric storage water heaters, the valve features corrosion-resistant materials, precision thermal actuation, and a manual test lever for in-field performance checks. It meets or exceeds ASME and CSA safety standards and is commonly specified for use in residential and light commercial applications.
Key Features
Dual Protection – Activates when internal tank pressure exceeds 150 psi or when temperature reaches 210°F
Forged Brass Body – Corrosion-resistant and suitable for continuous exposure to domestic hot water
Test Lever – Allows for manual function testing to confirm valve responsiveness
Standard Threading – 3/4" NPT inlet and outlet compatible with most storage water heater ports
Certified for Safety – ASME Section IV and CSA B125.3 compliant for code-approved installations

Installation Requirements
This valve must be installed in the designated relief port of the water heater. The discharge line should be routed in accordance with local code requirements to a safe drainage location. Installation should be completed by a licensed plumbing professional to ensure proper orientation, flow direction, and code compliance. Improper installation can result in safety hazards or failed inspections.
Common Applications
Tank-style water heaters (electric or gas)
Residential indirect storage tanks
Light commercial hot water systems requiring pressure relief
